RV Rental Questions and Answers

Q: Besides the cost of my RV rental are there any other charges?

A: Motorhomes 34′ and above have an additional $150 cleaning charge, and every motorhome under 34′ is $100. Insurance is also a requirement for all of our motorhome rentals. We recommend you check with your personal auto insurance company first to inquire if they will write a rental binder for your timeframe. This option is usually the least expensive choice for insurance coverage. Unfortunately, many insurance companies do not offer this policy any more. Not to worry, we have the option for you to purchase a rental binder through our RV Insurance carrier (MBA) for $17-28/night depending on which unit. A few top of the line Diesel motorhomes will run $45/night for insurance. Please be advised we also have to collect sales tax on top of the base rental rate.

Q: How can we make a reservation?

A: Please call 303-903-6808 at any time. You may also email us at hitesrental@yahoo.com. A $500 dollar deposit ($750 for Diesels) will be charged to confirm and hold your dates for your rental. This deposit is applied directly to your remaining rental balance.

Q: What happens if we have any problems or breakdowns while on our trip?

A: We provide roadside emergency service with every one of our rentals.

Q: Where am I not allowed to take the RV?

A: Our motorhomes may not go to Mexico, Burning Man Festival, non-public roads, or any other seasonal limitations set by Hites Rental.

Q: Do we need a special driver’s license to operate an RV?

A: This question is perhaps the most commonly asked question with this type of motorhome. There is NO special license required to operate any type of RV. Therefore, anyone over the age of 25 years with a valid driver’s license and a decent driving record can drive our motorhomes.

Q: Do your motorhomes come equipped with linens and kitchenware?

A: Yes, all of our units have the basic items that are needed. Kitchen silverware, pots, pans and other various items are included in every motorhome. Bedding and bath towels are available with every motorhome but you must specify whether you need these items. Additional charges may apply

Q: When can we pick up or drop off the motorhome?

A: During normal business hours, after hours and special needs are addressed on a case by case base and are subject to additional charges.

Q: Do the motorhomes have a TV?

A: Of course, all of our units have at least one TV and at least one DVD player as well. Many of our motorhomes have two TV’s and a few have two DVD players as well.

Q: Can we tow a boat or car behind the Motorhome?

A: No, BUT you may tow a car behind our motorhomes on a car dolly ONLY. Car dollies can be rented for $25/day. Restrictions do apply. You must only use our dollies, No other trailers are allowed to be towed behind our rv’s. We do not allow boats to be towed behind our motorhomes as there is NO SAFE way to launch a boat behind this type of RV. However, we may consider towing other trailers on a case by case bases, please call at 303-903-6808 for more information.

Q: What kind of fuel mileage can we expect?

A: With normal driving conditions most of our Diesel Motorhomes will see anywhere from 7-10mpg. Our Gas Motorhomes can see anywhere from 8 to 12mpg.

Q: What will we need to use the generator for and how much can we use it?

A: If you stay at a campground with hookups you will probably not need it at all. If hookups are not available you must let us know in advance so you can provide better instructions to prevent running your batteries dead. You do need to run the generator to use the the television, microwave, and air conditioners when you are not plugged in.

Q: Do you allow pets in your RV? Or can we smoke in the motorhome?

A: Pets are allowed in only a few of our motorhomes with additional damage deposits of $250. As for smoking in the RV, this is NOT allowed at anytime!!! If you do smoke in the RV or the RV comes back with a large overwhelming smell of smoke you will lose your entire security deposit with NO EXCEPTIONS!

Q: Can we leave our car at your lot while we are renting your motorhome?

A: Yes, we are happy to providesafe and secure parking for your vehicle while you are on your trip.
